New Neighbors in the New Year

Dear LCPC Friends:

Most of you know that Bethany Community Church Northeast began worshiping in the Fellowship Hall on January 8th, 2017. Here’s what to expect as we share our building with another congregation on Sundays:

Parking: Limited mobility spots already exist on the west side, near the ground floor entrance by the Choir Room. We have reserved additional parking for those with limited mobility in the northwest lot, close to the ramp leading to the sanctuary on NE 123rd Street. They will be marked with cones and signs, and we expect to have some Bethany volunteers ensuring these spots are protected. All other spots are available on a first come/first served basis, and we will use more on street parking to accommodate both congregations. Now may be your time to join the adult Sunday School class that meets in the Fireplace Room at 9am!

Coffee: The solarium just outside the sanctuary is now our coffee spot. Many volunteers have been putting their heart and soul into ensuring that we have coffee and community. Feel free to come early and/or stay late to visit in the solarium, library or around the tables in the chapel area.

Room Usage: LCPC has full use of the Sanctuary, Youth Room, and the Fireplace Room all day on Sundays. Session and Deacon meetings will take place in the Fireplace Room.

Bethany has full use of Fellowship Hall for their 9:30 worship service. They will also use both floors of the C.E. wing, with more than 70 children attending each Sunday. The office Conference Room will house their High School Sunday School class. Coffee and a registration table for their children’s ministry will be set up in the foyer outside the Fellowship Hall.

LLC will still hold all of their classes during the week and HIP still uses office, storage, and prep space as scheduled. Bethany has one room in the office suite downstairs for their staff and access to the rest of the building as it is available.

To manage all of these moving parts, it will be really important to plan ahead for room usage around here! ANY room usage needs to be scheduled through the church office, with as much notice as possible.

More Questions: We invite your questions and concerns and want to hear how we can make things easier around here for everyone. Please talk to Sandy and/or Irv as needed.

With all of our planning, there will still be some bumps in the road as we figure all of this out. THANK YOU for your patience, and your generosity as we welcome this young church to serve Christ right alongside of us on this corner of Lake City.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Sandy
